07/16/01: We have completed the world trip portion
of the website (though we will continue to cleanup small points). New
items of interest include: updated New Zealand page with
the last week of activity and pictures, completed Australia
page, completed United States page. We have also
added a Trip by Numbers page, updated the itinerary map,
updated the Best and Worst page with
new items (check update date), updated the In
Review page with Trip Summary and summary and a
Traveling Advice
section. |

05/31/01: We have published a 'DRAFT' version of
the New Zealand page with some
information/pictures about what we have done in New Zealand so far -- note
that some of this might change! We have also updated the itinerary

page. We also updated the London page with details of our second
pass through. Still have not fixed Javascript errors on the 'Jump'
feature below, but have figured it the problem -- trying to figure out how

| 3/21/01: We have completed the Victoria Falls (Zambia &
Zimbabwe) and Johannesburg pages, but
still have only pictures+summary for Cairo.
Also, we added some audio and short video to the site. Without
streaming abilities yet at Yahoo! Hosting Services it requires some big
downloads so best for those of you with high speed connections -- but we
like the content. Check out bugling/dogs

made some updates to Cape Town (VAT detail,
kluffing, etc). We

South Africa including Cape Town, Ngala
Safari, and Sun City (we stayed in
Cape Town for 16 days!!) Be sure to check past status

Town (we stayed in Cape Town for 16 days!!) Added some
comments on Kilimanjaro page
(about 18 hour world record climb), and a real map of a 6 day route.
Added Valentine's Day picture to Nairobi page.
Updated all past/futures dates on trip schedule.
Also added shortcut below to jump directly to a page. |
| 2/14/01: We have now updated the web through the
Kilimanjaro climb. We might make minor fixes, but generally all
pages are complete. Have updated 'Best and Worst', 'Languages'
pages, and add 'In Review'. |
| 2/13/01: We were without phone service for 2+ weeks!!
CURRENTLY IN PROCESS of updating all world trip pages (finally!) with text
and detail through the Kili climb -- will be cleaning up through 2/15/01

07/16/01: We are back home and done with our
trip! We have spent the last 3 weeks of the in the United
States, visiting our relatives in Los Angeles, Vermont, and Massachusetts.
We are quite ready to sleep in one bed for more than 4 days for the first
time in 6 months! |

06/29/01: We are back in the US! We
had significant technology issues the last 3 weeks of the trip (laptop
dead, palm dead, camera limited functionality), so we could not keep the
web updated. The trip was awesome, but it is also nice to be back
home. We will update web over the next couple weeks. |

05/31/01: We have been in New Zealand for the last
2 weeks, first in the North Island and now in the South island. We have
driven thousands of kilometers through the wonderful country of New
Zealand, attempting to do as many activities as possible, given the
off-season weather. |

05/17/01: We leave Sydney for Auckland tomorrow
morning. We plan to spend the next 2-3 weeks in New Zealand.
We spent the last two days in Sydney, enjoying the perfect weather and the
native English language (soooo nice). We did not do much in Sydney
on this pass, because we will be back here to explore it with Kristen's
sister in a few weeks. |
| 05/14/01: We leave Tokyo for Sydney (via Taipei, Hong Kong) tomorrow -- very long day/night
of flying. We decided to leave Tokyo a couple days early so that we
could spend more time in Australia and New Zealand. |
| 05/08/01: We leave Hong Kong tomorrow
for Osaka, Japan, then Kyoto. We plan to see Kyoto, Hiroshima, and
Tokyo until May 17, when we fly to Sydney, Australia. |
| 05/07/01: We are in Hong Kong,
China. We will likely head to Japan (or possibly Taiwan), on May 9th if we
can get things organized. We have decided to skip the rest of China, given US-China relations, and the effort and
amount of time required
to do it right. |
| 05/02/01: We are in the Golden Triangle area
north of Chang Rai, Northern Thailand (border of
Laos/Burma/Thailand) for 3 days. We head
to Hong Kong on May 5th. We have decided to skip the rest of China
(except for Hong Kong), given US-China relations, and the effort and
amount of time required
to do it right. |

after a quick seven day trip through Cambodia and Vietnam. We head
to the Golden Triangle area in Chang Rai, Northern Thailand (border of
Laos/Burma/Thailand) tomorrow for 3 days. We head
to Hong Kong on May 5th. We have decided to skip the rest of China
(except for Hong Kong), given US-China relations, and the effort required
to do it right. |

India, after a couple weeks in Nepal and Tibet, and then New Delhi. We
leave for Bangkok early Monday (4/16) morning. |
| 04/12/01: We have just returned to
New Delhi, after a couple weeks in Nepal and Tibet. We are trying to
re-schedule our Mumbei-Bangkok flight sooner (currently 4/20), so it is
not clear when we leave India. |
| 4/2/01: We have been in Kathmandu,
Nepal, for 3 days, and leave for a long drive into Tibet for the next 4
nights/5 days. We might get to Everest Base Camp after all! We
will be back in Kathmandu April 7, then leave for Pokhara, Nepal on April
8. |
